What will brides be wearing in 2027? What are tomorrow’s brides looking for, and which silhouettes, details and design directions will define the upcoming bridal season?
Photos & Video: European Bridal Week
At European Bridal Week, the new 2027 collections gave us a clear picture of what’s ahead. This year’s bridal trends strike a beautiful balance between romance and modernity, blending timeless elegance with fresh, more personal expressions.
We saw strong nods to historical silhouettes, reinterpreted with contemporary fabrics, playful detailing and a greater sense of individuality than we’ve seen in recent seasons.
From dramatic skirts and feminine corsetry to innovative cuts and romantic embellishments, these are the key bridal trends for 2027 that stood out to us — and that we believe will shape bridal fashion in the seasons to come.
Basque Waists
The Basque waist is making a strong comeback — and it looks more elegant than ever. With its distinctive V-shaped waistline, this silhouette elongates the torso and creates a soft, feminine shape that beautifully highlights the waist.
We saw the trend across multiple collections, often paired with clean lines, luxurious fabrics and modern styling. The result is a refined mix of vintage romance and contemporary simplicity.
Silhouettes are becoming more sculpted, with a noticeable focus on the hips. Through structured tailoring, soft draping and subtle volume, designers are creating flattering hourglass shapes that feel both sophisticated and fashion-forward.
The look brings a couture-inspired edge to bridalwear — along with a sense of confidence that resonates with today’s bride.

Pearls — Modern, Playful and Everywhere
Pearls are officially back, but in a far more modern way than before. On the runways, we saw everything from delicate pearl embroidery to bold embellishments and striking three-dimensional details.
And the trend goes far beyond the dress itself. Pearls appeared throughout the accessories too — on handbags, shoes, hair accessories, chokers and jewellery.

Short Wedding Dresses — More Than a Second Look
Short wedding dresses continue to grow in popularity, and designers are embracing them in increasingly creative ways. Perfect for civil ceremonies, destination weddings, summer celebrations or as a second dress for the evening party — a trend becoming especially popular in Nordic weddings.
From playful minis to elegant knee-length styles, these dresses featured luxurious fabrics and thoughtful details that made them feel anything but casual.

Lustrous Satin Takes Centre Stage
Glossy satin is having a moment, with shine becoming a defining feature of the season. Smooth, fluid fabrics give gowns a luxurious and timeless quality while reflecting light beautifully — both in real life and in photographs.
Elegant, effortless and undeniably sophisticated, satin once again proves why it remains a bridal favourite.

Matching Accessories: Chokers and Statement Necklines
Accessories are playing a bigger role than ever, and one detail we noticed repeatedly was gowns paired with matching chokers or neckpieces crafted in coordinating fabrics or embellishments.
Detachable styling elements also featured heavily across the collections, including sleeves, boleros and capes — offering brides more versatility and the opportunity to personalise their look throughout the day.

A New Direction in Bridal Fashion — What It Means for Retailers
Perhaps the most interesting takeaway for bridal boutiques and buyers is how the 2027 trends reflect a new kind of bride: more style-aware, more confident in her choices and more focused on finding a gown that genuinely reflects her personality.
European Bridal Week confirmed that bridal fashion is moving away from one dominant look or aesthetic. Instead, the market is increasingly driven by variety, individuality and the need to cater to different bridal styles and identities.
For retailers, this means a growing importance on thoughtful buying strategies, balanced collections and assortments that successfully span romantic, modern, minimalist and statement-making designs.
Today’s bride wants options — and the boutiques that succeed in 2027 will be the ones that combine strong trend pieces with a clear brand identity, a well-curated product mix and the flexibility to meet evolving customer expectations.
